About

You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.
― William W. Purkey

Welcome to my blog. In the past I’ve created travel blogs for specific places but I’ve never had any kind of forum for my random thoughts, or ramblings – hence the site name.

At The Huron Lookout

When I first started this blog a few years ago I did my best to post something every day. That got to be too much of an effort and I started to acquire “blog burnout”. After taking a break for a while and returning to the blog, I approached it with a “quality over quantity’ approach, and posting has become fun again rather than feeling like a chore.

Setting out on this little experiment I initially had to wonder, OK, what in the world does little me have to blog about and, quite frankly, who would care if I did? Why a blog and why at this time of my life, when I see my 64th year approaching on the horizon? A time for reflection, perhaps? Well, I don’t really know for sure but I’ll take the same philosophy as I did when setting up my photo sites – I do it just for the fun of it. There are worse things to do in life.

Scattered throughout my posts I’ll talk about whatever comes to mind, but I’ll lean toward topics such as music, photography, food, the annoyances of urban living, fun or quirky things found in the city, rants, pets, Toronto, family and friends, books, travel, gay life, musings, the province of Alberta, an occasional poem or quote, and basically any of the general stuff that makes up our lives. Through all of this I’ll endeavour to stay on the lighter side of things, as there’s enough doom and gloom in our world today as it is.

Thanks for coming along on the ride.
